Market research: surveys, synthesized signals or numeric models
Start here
Use survey and interview training for questions and qualitative evidence. Compare numeric-model training when the input is structured sales or customer data. Assignment type and prerequisites matter more than the shared phrase “market research.”
GenAI for Market Research Analysts names survey creation, trend analysis, customer segmentation and competitor analysis with multiple generative tools. Its page lists assignments and a peer-reviewed practice project and links it to a larger certificate. Market research: Survey Generation & User Research with AI emphasizes interviews, Otter transcripts and conversion of qualitative insights into measurable survey questions. AI-Driven Sales Forecasting and Market Analysis covers regression forecasts, retention classification and customer clustering. It covers related analytics skills rather than a marketing-specific workflow.
Choose by the evidence being worked on: research questions and text, recorded interviews, or structured sales/customer data. Peer review is advertised for the Coursera course. Instructor assessment and real-world research validity remain untested. Ask what you will produce and who checks it. Those are separate questions.
An original fictional comparison exercise
A small test to try
- Bring
- Five fictional interview notes and a small sales table
- Try
- Separate statements from interviewees from patterns in the table. Draft two survey questions, then list which forecasting questions the small sample cannot answer.
- Keep and check
- An evidence map, two survey questions and a list of unresolved questions. Check that the model does not invent respondents or treat a small sample as a reliable forecast.
Use this to ask better questions. It does not describe an exercise included in the listed courses.
